Poultry Health and Disease Management

Have knowledge and understanding of:

  1. Systemic diseases in poultry, especially those found in Indonesia, cover aspects of etiology, mode of transmission, clinical symptoms, pathology, treatment, and prevention and control.
  2. Infectious disease including viruses, bacteria, mycoplasma, fungi, protozoa, internal parasites, and non-infectious diseases including feed, mycotoxins, environment, climate and the interaction of these factors.
  3. Integrated poultry health management in various sectors of the poultry industry, including biosecurity, vaccination programs, treatment, disease prevention and control
  4. Poultry epidemiology, poultry immunology and suppressive disease concepts, and poultry pharmacology
  5. Various aspects of poultry farm management, including seeds, feed, cultivation, health programs and distribution/marketing systems.
  6. The global and national (Indonesian) poultry industry includes the upstream industry (breeding farm, hatchery, feed, biologics, equipment) to downstream (processing, further processing)

 

B. Possess the ability to think or intellectual skills to:

  1. Plan, conduct and report research in the field of poultry.
  2. Design and build a poultry business in various sectors of the poultry industry, from upstream to downstream.
  3. Evaluate and provide input based on scientific considerations on the condition of poultry from various aspects.

C. Possess practical skills to:

  1. Determine the diagnosis and prevention of various diseases in poultry.
  2. Design and build a special poultry diagnostic laboratory.
  3. Design and build a poultry business.
  4. Identify various health and production problems related to mycotoxin contamination in feed or poultry feed raw materials.

 

D. Attitude and Management Skills

  1. Able to lead and professionally manage a diagnostic laboratory or poultry business.
  2. Able to lead and manage a research professionally in the field of disease or poultry health, especially those that are cross-sectoral and zoonotic in nature.
  3. Able to build a wide and continuous communication network and have a strong determination to learn continuously.
  4. Ethical, based on honesty and mutual respect among fellow professionals.
